Round trip: 5 miles
Who doesn't want to go hike around an island with a great probability of seeing buffalo? Ben and I are of the kind that this sounded to tempting to pass up. We left the bungalow packed for another adventure and hoping there was still a campsite for us. We camped at Buffalo Springs campground and set up our tent before venturing around the island.
As we started trekking around the island, there were cool rock formations and the buffalo were HUGE! Teller was tempted a few times to go make friends but alas his parents are lame and he had to stay put. We decided to go around and then hike up to Buffalo Point. Don't you freight our legs were burning a little as we ascended, but the view was totally worth it. We sat atop rocks and took in the beauty of the surroundings for a wee bit. The sun was going down and so our motivation was high to go back to our home away from home.
This night was the best as this is the first time we carried a huge spider into the tent with us. I spotted the spider invader under Ben and made a gasp. Ben so brave, jumped so high, and asked me why I didn't help him to rid us of the spider. My response, " Only one of us needs to be in danger at a time." We will see in the next couple of years if I feel the same way if the rolls are reversed, but oh boy was the laughter worth the whole scene. Another great adventure in the books.
